Project Showcase

Snapshots of lesson designs, teaching moments, and a participation incentive that work together to shape learning.

5th Grade Student Creative Writing Tutoring

This is a creative writing tutoring session focused on strengthening narrative writing skills. Based on the student’s previously identified interest in graphic novels and visual storytelling, she was introduced to online story-building platforms to help generate ideas for characters, settings, and plot development. Instruction focused on transforming simple sentences into more engaging writing through the use of sensory details, dialogue, and character emotions. The student practiced revising sentences and then applied these new skills to three creative writing prompts, demonstrating growth in descriptive writing, creativity, and overall storytelling ability.

4th Grade Bluebonnet Unit 4 Lesson 1

This Bluebonnet lesson is built around Welcome to the Middle Ages and focuses on TEKS 4.6E, making connections to personal experiences, ideas in other texts, and society. Throughout the lesson, students explored life during the Middle Ages while developing their ability to connect historical events and concepts to the world around them.

Students made observations, gathered text evidence, and recorded important events that contributed to the development of the Middle Ages in their interactive workbook. Through reading, discussion, and written responses, students strengthened their comprehension skills while learning how historical events are connected across time and cultures.

3rd Grade Bluebonnet Unit 1 Lesson 7

This live lesson plan deck was designed from Bluebonnet 3rd grade unit 1 reading lesson 7, and aligned to TEKS 3.8C, focusing on inferring the theme of a literary text and distinguishing theme from topic. It guides students in analyzing characters, events, and story outcomes to identify underlying messages and lessons learned. It emphasizes the difference between a topic (what the story is about) and a theme (the author’s message or lesson). Through guided discussion, text evidence, and comprehension activities, it supports students in making inferences and defending their thinking with details from the text.

Test Mastery Lesson Delivery Video

In this instructional video, I guide students through a Test Mastery slide deck designed to and build confidence and eliminate anxiety. Students learn practical strategies for preparing for a standardized assessment.

Short Constructed Response Lesson Delivery Video

In this instructional video, I teach students how to write effective short constructed responses using a structured, evidence-based approach. Through explicit modeling and guided practice, students learn how to analyze the question, identify relevant text evidence, and craft clear, complete responses that support their thinking. The lesson emphasizes critical reading, written communication, and the use of text evidence to strengthen student responses and prepare them for rigorous academic assessments.

4th Grade BOY RACE Writer’s Workshop

This live lesson plan deck was developed and delivered as a beginning-of-year slide deck introducing 4th-grade students to the RACE writing strategy. The lesson focuses on strengthening constructed responses by teaching students how to reword questions into complete statement answers and identify subjects and predicates to build grammatically correct sentences. Through guided practice, modeling, and interactive activities, students develop foundational writing skills needed to effectively respond to text-dependent questions using the RACE method.
